That’s why we created the Stilwell; the TJB take on the compact pen. It’s small in size, but punches well above its weight class. With its minimal form, it will easily ride in your pocket all day, but when it’s time to do work the Stilwell is all business.

We’ve redesigned the Stilwell from the ground up, building on the history of the original and incorporating feedback from you, our customers. We’ve simplified the construction and made the Stilwell lighter, with a new barrel and cap design. We implemented an entirely new 3-part gasket system for easy, consistent and secure deployment. We’ve also made improvements to the lanyard to make it easier to tuck into the cap, and we’ve added machined-in dots (which match our new Burwell pen and our Cache River pocket tool) for better overall grip. It’s like the original Stilwell, but better.

I run around all day. I wanted a pen that could match. The still well is perfect. I stick it in my pill pocket along with my Palmer and it's there when I need it. Pair it with the pocket book that fits comfortably in the back pocket and it's a match made in heaven.

While I love the style and weight, I have encountered two issues with this pen:
1. Notice the smudging that occurs (see pic)
2. The tip wobbles when I write, lacking stability and reflecting my overall penmanship. A quality pen remains firm.

I journal off and on and like to see a pen as more of a daily tool than anything. My journal consists largely of my experiences and seeing the brass on this pen age as I use it weirdly drives me to journal more frequently. It's like its along for the journey, collecting its own experiences through patina and scratches. The weight of it alone makes it feel more like a companion to the journal and I actually don't even want to write with any other pen unless its with this one.
Wow, got pretty deep there for a pen review... Time to put the coffee away...
