Work with your friends.

We are back again this year with our brother from another Midwestern mother, Aaron Draplin of the DDC! If you don’t already know by now, we love our good friend and collaborator Aaron James (!!!) Draplin for his commitment to his craft, his sense of humor, and for his heart, which he wears unapologetically on his sleeve. Simply put, they don't make 'em like Draplin. So in continuation of this most lovely orangish tradition, we are stoked to introduce this limited edition James° x DDC Ellis. Happy holidays and keep it orange people!

    Excellent multi-tool / folding knife

If you are looking for a compact but not too small EDC, look no further. The Ellis has been on my watchlist for a couple of months - ever since I purchased the Folsom in December - and when this DDC collaboration issue was announced I could not wait any more. The Ellis is everything I was looking for in terms of a high quality EDC. Love the color combination. And - wait for it - my middle name is James. I am carrying this most days and am waiting for my wife to need scissors for something while we are out. (Note: how can I collaborate with you guys on a knife? I already have a name picked out: The Michael James.)

    Love the redesign

Love Draplin and this is a great collab. Been waiting to get my hands on an Ellis as I love my Elko. This just sold me on it. Only slight qualm is the clip isn’t straight on mines

    my first Ellis, but...

    My first TJB and Ellis.

As much as I thought about it several times

and bought it, the first impression was really good.

However, a few drawbacks stand out.

    First, the paint is bad.

It stands out even more because

it is part of TJB's signature logo.

And the paint and coating of the black parts

are not perfect either. Lastly, the positioning

of the retaining clip is subtle.

Personally, I don't like that it's tilted to

one side instead of just right in the middle.

    But despite their drawbacks,

knives and scissors do their job very well.

Scissors, in particular, present a different

experience than any other tool I have ever touched.

    Awesome!

I always forget about how sharp knives from James are. Both my index fingers can testify as to that lol. Be careful 😂😂🩸
